ABOUT JESS
Born and raised in Alaska, Jess cut her teeth in NYC as a comedy and entertainment producer where she worked with top celebrity talent and national brands on world-class media content, events, tours, and campaigns. While still a full-time student, she became a full-time producer and tour manager at the top comedy brand CollegeHumor. After a powerful experience as a Story Producer for A&E’s hit reality series “Hoarders,” she felt called to leverage her vast skill to help create positive social change through combining advocacy and media. While continuing to produce live comedy shows and video content for Food Network, HGTV, Bravo, and more, she began to organize charity events and advocacy campaigns for social issues like universal free school lunch and gun violence prevention.
To expand the impact of her work, Jess earned her master's degree in public administration and has since helped raise over $25 million for inspiring nonprofits (spanning gender and racial justice, reproductive health, children’s issues, youth development, interfaith dialogue, disability advocacy, hunger relief, and more) and has managed multiple progressive political campaigns. Jess is relentless in her belief that comedy, media, and storytelling can change the world.
